Dr Vishal Chafale is consultant and interventional Neurologist practicing in Navi Mumbai. Dr Vishal has done his MBBS from GMC, Nagpur. He did his postgraduation in Internal Medicine ( MD) from SSMC, Rewa. He was always keen to explore about physiology and diseases of brain. To pursue his interest he did his super-specialisation in Neurology ( DM- Neurology) from Bangur Institute Of Neurosciences, Kolkata whisch is one of the oldest and Premier neurology institute in India. During his tenure he came across variety of complex neurological disordes and attained expertise in diagnosis and treatment of various neutrological conditions. He also did DNB in Neurology from National Board of Examinations, New Delhi.
While doing superspecialization in Neurology he developed special interest in brain stroke. He has done 2 year full time Fellowship in Interventional Neurology under Society of Neurovascular Intervention . He was trained by Dr Anil Karapurkar who is pioneer of neurointervention in India and Dr Rakesh Singh in various neurointervention procedures at Breach Candy Hospital, Mumbai. During his fellowship he did various interventional procedures of brain and spine. To sharpen his skills and to learn latest techniques in neurointervention, he went to Germany and did observership in department of therauptic Neurointervention, Alfred Krupp Hospital, Essen under Dr Rene Chapot.
His special areas of interest is brain stroke , its acute management ( Thrombolyis, Mechanical Thrombectomy), evaluation of stroke to address its mechanism, prevention of stroke. He is also has expertise in treatment of various neurological conditions like Headache, Epilepsy, Parkinsonism, Dementia, back and neck pain, nerve and muscle disorders, demyelinating diseases of brain and spine, vertigo, brain infection etc.
